Tennis

Cricket
The ICC (International Cricket Counsil) annouced on the 7th March 2005 their move from Lords in London and Monacco to Dubai. Its is the first time since the governing body was founded in 1909 that they haved moved from their historical location in the UK and France to the Middle East. They felf the location of Dubai where "East meets West" was perfecly positioned to entice criecket fans from all over the world to come to learn the game and spectate at the Internaitonal touraments that it will be hosting year on year. Sports City will have a 25,000-seat capacity stadium with academy for cricket that will hold the tournament events.

Golf
Butch Harmon made his name as Tiger Woods´ golf coach. He has founded gold academies all over the world and the Butch Harmon Dubai Sport City Academy will be his first in the Middle and Far East. It will feature a host of golfing amenities to include the main driving range, short game and putting area, state-of -the -art video and analysis rooms and will be positioned next to the Ernie Els signature golf course.

Other Sports
In addition to the exciting developments in Football, Golf, Tennis and Cricket, Dubai Sports City will cater for many other sports with a total of 8 academies to include Swimming, Hockey, Rugby and Fencing. A multi purpose outdoor stadium holding 25,000 people for track and field. The hockey stadium will have seating capacity of 5,000 to 8,000 will be used for basketball, volleyball, handball, net ball and other sports. It will also hold concerts and shows as an entertainment centre. A riding club on a membership basis will be set up offering a full range of equestrian activities.
